Born in Thessaloniki, Nikos has followed a diverse and multilateral academic path. He first gained a Bachelor’s Degree in Balkan, Slavic, and Oriental Studies from University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, and then studied Law at Democritus University of Thrace. After graduating from his LLB studies and launching his legal professional career, Nikos focused his academic pursuits in the field of Criminal Law. Specifically, he gained his Postgraduate degree (LLM) in Criminal Law and is currently following doctoral studies in the same field.
He is a litigation lawyer specialized in the field of criminal law with special focus on white collar crime such as complex fraud cases, tax offences, money-laundering, corruption, capital markets and criminal liability of companies’ directors, cyber crime, environmental crime, EU criminal law, extradition and mutual legal assistance, confiscation issues and human rights. He also deals with financial, corporate and data protection law issues, preventive advice on criminal compliance issues, administrative sanctions on corporations or individuals and recovery of assets and other proceeds of crime.
